I’ll admit, I went into this movie with no expectations, anticipation, or nostalgia for the first movie. I wasn’t sure it would be a movie for me, but when the movie started, the camera panned over the ground and the dark but open score played, I thought maybe I’d like this. In fact, the score and soundtrack were one of the highlights, although it was less Joker and more the Adams family.

It was weird, funny at times and good looking

We’re introduced to many fun and quirky characters, old and new, including three generations of the Deetz family, but I like that the movie didn’t just repeat the first one. For example, while Lydia Deetz was weird and sympathetic to the paranormal in the original film, her daughter Astrid, played by Jenna Ortega, is a skeptic of all things ghostly while still managing to give off Wednesday Adams vibes. When you think about it, the story naturally had to go in a new direction while incorporating the afterlife. While the story can be over the top and indeed predictable in places, it’s fine for what it is, but it left a lot to be desired as it approached its hour and 45 minute run time.

If you liked the first one, will you enjoy this one?

Overall, I had even better fun than I expected with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and I think this can attract new fans. I can’t say, but I wish this was released closer to Halloween because it would have made for some scary fun.

Microsoft clearly needs a good reason to reverse its past claims and still ditch Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. And a completely new design is great for that. The Redmond giant has long been preparing a redesign for an update with the code name Sun Valley (“Sun Valley”) – apparently, under this naming it was Windows 11. The Sun Valley project flashed on the network for a long time – Microsoft regularly disclosed details of the new interface style, insiders shared the unknown previously information, and popular designers in their circles drew realistic concepts based on all this data. – Start and system elements will float above the bottom bar. Start is the calling card and face of every recent version of Windows. Not surprisingly, in Windows 11, developers will transform it again, but not so much in functional as in visual terms – the Start window will hover above the bottom bar. We have to admit that this small change makes the appearance of the system much fresher. Judging by information from the network, Microsoft will not radically change the “insides” of this menu – the innovations will affect only the design of the window itself. The control panel will also float, and its design will be exactly the same as that of the “Start”. The action center will be combined with the control buttons together – a similar one has long been used in some other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it will be island – the control buttons will be located on one separate panel, notifications will be on another, and specific elements (like a player) on another separate on. – Right angles will disappear, they will be replaced by fillets. In truth, insiders and concept designers disagree on this point – some are confident that Microsoft will not change its traditions and will keep right angles, while others are convinced that in 2021 Microsoft will follow the fashion for fillets. The latter fits better with the definition of “completely new Windows” – just hovering menus are not enough for a new design to be considered truly new. Fillets are expected to affect virtually everything in the system, from context menus and system panels to all application windows. True, even on this issue, the opinions of concept designers differ – some draw fillets in all possible interface elements, others combine them with right angles. – There will be a translucent background with blur everywhere. There is disagreement on the web about the island style of displaying windows, the design of the corners and the levitation effect of the menu, but almost everyone is unanimous about the transparency of the windows. The vast majority of leaks and design renders show transparency and blur in all windows, be it at least the Start menu or Explorer. I’ve seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT… NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU’RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY… Do you think I’m qualified?. The Geffen Company logo is accompanied by a ghoulish version of the Banana Boat song (sung by the film's composer Danny Elfman).. A workprint of the film surfaced with some added/alternate scenes. This version of the film runs around 2 minutes shorter than the theater release, has a few extra scenes and is missing some others, is in black and white, and has a time-code on the bottom.

This version has 4 major differences: Alternate scene: The scene were Adam attempts to leave the house after he and his wife die is different. Extra Scenes: There is an added scene were Lydia is developing the pictures she took of Adam and Barbra. Then after her mother yells at her and blames her for cutting holes in her sheets Lydia runs upstairs and tries to convince her dad the pictures are real. There is more to the scene where the adults search the attic for the ghosts were we see the desert monster trying to eat Adam and Barbra as they hang from the attic window. Finally there is an extra 2 minute scene at the end were we see Lydia riding her bike home from school and her parents talking to Jane on the phone telling her they do not want to sell the house. Lydia's dancing scene is shorter in this version, and there is no scene with Beetlejuice in the waiting room.

With him – and the whole movie – you also get a lot of humor and scary special-effects..It was odd to see Alec Baldwin in such a low-key role.

All of them are good

In the '90s, he played very few of these type of guys. Davis looks and acts like…well, Davis, who has almost always played nice, cute people that viewers like. It took me four viewings before I finally appreciated Catharine O'Hara's comedic talents in this movie. Now, she's my favorite and someone I find absolutely hilarious as the messed-up wife/mother of a family who moves into a "haunted house" inhabited by Baldwin and Davis.Keaton made himself a name as an actor with this whacked-out Robin Williams-type role, although he never really followed up with anything that was as popular as this film. Winona Rider is cute as the teenage daughter and we get other fun supporting roles from diverse people like talk show host Dick Cavett, singer Robert Goulet and actor Jeffrey Jones.

While searching an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. Director Federico Alvarez explains the rule he established for the movie “Alien: Romulus” that “if it can be practical, it will be practical”, so the actors always acted against the physical representation of the xenomorph. Physical scenery, real-life creatures and miniatures were used wherever possible to aid further work on the visual effects. When Rein disables the ship’s gravity and shoots all the aliens, all their blood hangs in the air in long, smeared patterns.

Weightlessness in real life makes liquids take the form of spheres, and not spread out into long flat pieces, as in the film. If you like the “Alien” franchise, there is a greater chance that this film will satisfy you… Because it combines most of the notable elements that have made the franchise so popular over the years (cf. Visual language in general pretty excellent, with some really striking shots here and there (great framing and composition)

Of course, this is a product of our modern era (filming techniques, effects), but at the same time it retains most of the classic atmosphere and tonality of the “Alien” films… Yes, it may disappoint some who have a sense of ownership over the franchise, because it definitely expands and explores quite a lot of lore (and this what I personally look for in sci-fi sagas that span decades)… In addition, the lead actress (Kaylee Spaney) carries the film really well, with silent power, subtlety and intensity… So if you’re looking for a film about an alien that uses most of the old ingredients while reintroducing and/or reinventing them and exploring beyond what we’re used to…

Then you’ll have a great time!
